HÁBITO ALIMENTAR DE Rhinella jimi, (STEVAUX, 2002) (ANURA; BUFONIDEA) NO SEMIÁRIDO

Resumo

Objetivou- se com o trabalho analisar a dieta de uma população de Rhinella jimi no município de Cuité, semiárido paraibano, durante os períodos de chuva e seca de 2011. As coletas dos exemplares foram realizadas mensalmente durante dois dias. As presas foram identificadas nas categorias taxonômicas de ordem. Através do calculo do índice alimentar (IAi) realizado por meio da análise dos conteúdos estomacais registrou-se coleópteros (78 %) e as formigas (5 %) como as categorias de presas mais importantes. Ao considerar a sazonalidade da dieta, os resultados não indicaram diferenças entre as categorias de presas entre os períodos analisados. Conclui-se que a espécie R. jimi possui uma dieta generalista com maior consumo de coleópteros e formigas, no entanto não foi testada a seletividade para estes tipos de presas.
