Resumo

O ambiente térmico tem forte influência no desempenho zootécnico, constituindo um dos principais fatores de perdas produtivas em climas tropicais. Diante disso, objetivou-se discutir sobre os elementos climáticos que interferem sobre a ambiência de aves criadas em regiões intertropicais. Por serem animais mais sensíveis a elevadas temperaturas as aves sofrem inúmeras perdas não só produtivas, mas também econômicas, principalmente na fase final de produção, consequente do estresse térmico afetando os índices zootécnicos. O balanço eletrolítico da dieta de frangos de corte desempenha importante papel não só na manutenção de um bom desempenho produtivo, mas também para bom desenvolvimento ósseo e da qualidade da cama de frango. A nutrição influencia muito na produção de ovos, contudo, um detalhe que muitas vezes é deixado de lado é a qualidade da água, pois a água contém íons como sódio, cloro e potássio que se relacionam diretamente na homeostase ácido-base do organismo das galinhas e, caso ocorra variações dos níveis desses minerais na água, não adianta considerá-los apenas na ração. Vários são os fatores que interferem na produção de frangos de corte, os fatores ambientais, temperatura ambiente, umidade relativa do ar, iluminância, velocidade do vento e a radiação solar, têm grande importância na criação das aves.
