Biometria de vagens e viabilidade de sementes de jucá (Caesalpinia férrea M.) no semiárido

O objetivo desta pesquisa foi estudar a biometria de vagens de jucá e avaliar a viabilidade das sementes sob diferentes potenciais osmóticos e temperaturas. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida no Laboratório de Análise de Sementes do Departamento de Ciências Vegetais da Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido (UFERSA), Mossoró-RN. As características biométricas analisadas foram: comprimento das vagens, largura basal, apical e mediana, peso das vagens e número de sementes por vagem. Para avaliar a porcentagem de germinação e o índice de velocidade de germinação o experimento foi realizado no delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial 2 x 7, com quatro repetições. O primeiro fator consistiu-se da combinação de duas temperaturas (30ºC e 35ºC), e o segundo fator, consistiu de sete diferentes soluções nos potenciais osmóticos do tipo PEG 6000 (0,0; -0,05; -0,10; -0,15; -0,20; -0,25 e -0,30 MPa). As sementes de jucá apresentam ampla variabilidade nas características biométricas estudadas. A temperatura de 35°C proporcionou maior índice de velocidade de germinação. Os maiores níveis de salinidade proporcionaram menor porcentagem de germinação e de índice de velocidade de germinação.Referências
