Óleo de nim aplicado via irrigação no controle da mosca minadora em meloeiro

Abstract

A mosca minadora Liriomyza sativae é um dos principais entraves à produção comercial de melão (Cucumis melo) nos estados do Rio Grande do Norte (RN) e Ceará (CE), o que torna imprescindível a adoção de estratégias de controle dessa praga. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito do óleo de nim, aplicado via irrigação, sobre o controle da mosca minadora, em plantas de meloeiro. O trabalho foi conduzido em Delineamento Inteiramente Casualizado (DIC), composto por cinco tratamentos (quatro concentrações do óleo de nim: 1mL/L, 3mL/L, 5mL/L e 10mL/L + tratamento testemunha: água destilada) e 10 repetições (plantas de meloeiro). Os tratamentos foram aplicados via irrigação. As avaliações foram realizadas em duas etapas: na primeira etapa, realizada 24 horas após a aplicação dos tratamentos, se contabilizou o número de larvas mortas por planta e na segunda etapa, foi registrada a mortalidade pupal (das larvas que sobreviveram). Verificou-se que o incremento na concentração do óleo de nim proporcionou aumento da mortalidade larval e pupal da mosca minadora em meloeiro. A concentração de 10mL/L apresentou os melhores resultados, ocasionando 35,7% de mortalidade larval e 49,8% de mortalidade  pupal.
